GENERAL NORMS

 

This booklet is an integral and essential part of the product and must be handed to the technician in charge of installation.

  Carefully read the warnings contained in this booklet as they supply important information regarding safe installation, 

use and maintenance. Keep this booklet for further consultation. The burner must be installed according to norms in 
force, according to the manufacturer’s instructions and by qualified personnel. Incorrect installation may cause damage 
to people, animals or things, for which the manufacturer claims no responsibility.

 

This device must not be used for other purposes different from its envisioned use.  Any other use is considered improper and 
therefore dangerous. The manufacturer is not liable for eventual damage caused by improper and unreasonable uses.

 

Prior to any cleaning or maintenance operation, cut power off the device either by turning the main switch off or by 
means of the interception organs.

 

In case of fault/malfunctioning, deactivate the device and do not try to intervene directly. Seek qualified personnel for 
help. Any necessary repair must be carried out by an authorised assistance centre, and always using original spare 
parts. Failure to comply with these guidelines may jeopardise the safety of the device. To make sure the device is effi-
cient and functions correctly it is imperative to follow the manufacturer’s guidelines by having professionally qualified 
personnel carry out periodical maintenance operations on the device. 

 

If you decide not to use the device any longer you must make any potentially dangerous part harmless.

 

Prior to starting the burner, have qualified personnel make sure that:
a) the information on the name plate corresponds to the requirements of the power lines;
b) the calibration of the burner is compatible with the boiler’s power;
c)  the flow of combustion air and the evacuation of fumes are according to the norms in force;
d) burner aeration and normal maintenance are ensured.

 

Prior to any intervention that requires the burner to be dismantled or its inspection accesses to be opened, cut off power 
from the device and close the fuel supply taps.

 

Do not place containers with flammable substances near the burner.

 

The area where the burner is installed must possess openings towards the outside according to local norms in force. 
In case of doubt regarding air circulation, it is first advisable to measure the concentration of carbon dioxide while the 
burning is working in maximum capacity and with its installation area ventilated only by the openings which supply air to 
the burner; then measure the concentration of carbon dioxide again while the burner functions with the door open. The 
concentration of CO

2

 in both cases must not be significantly different. In case of more than one burner and than one fan 

in the same area, the test must be performed while all the devices are working at the same time.

 

Never obstruct the air vents of the burner, the suction openings of the fan or any other air vent or ventilation/dissipation 
grid, to avoid:
-  the formation of toxic or explosive gas mixtures in the burner;
-  combustion with insufficient air, resulting in dangerous, costly and polluting operation.

 

The burner must always be protected from rain, snow and freezing.

 

The burner area must always be kept clean and free of volatile substances which might be suctioned into the fan and clog 
the internal pipes of the burner or of the combustion head. Dust is extremely harmful, in particular if there is the possibility 
that it might deposit on the fan blades, as it reduces ventilation and causes pollution during combustion. Dust may also 
accumulate on the rear part of the flame stability disk on the combustion head, resulting in a poor mixture of air and fuel.

 

The burner must be provided with the type of fuel it has been designed to run on, as indicated on the information plate containing 
its characteristics and in the technical data provided in this manual.  The fuel line that feeds the burner must be perfectly sealed and 
rigid, with an interposed metal dilatation connection with flange attachment or threaded connection. It must also be equipped with all 
control and safety mechanisms required by local rules in force. Make sure that no external matter enters the line during installation.

 

Make sure that the power line used is according to the technical features indicated on the information plate and in this 
manual.The burner must be correctly connected to an efficient earth system, in compliance with the norms in force.

 

Never take the neutral cables for the phase cables.

 

The burner may be connected to the mains by a plug-socket connection as long as this system provides a coupling 
configuration which prevents phase and neutral inversion. Install a main switch on the control board for the heating 
system, as required by the laws in force.
