OPTIONAL HUMID CLIMATE MODIFICATION
NOTE:
If you are located in a humid climate with frequent changes in barometric
pressure or changes between rainy and hot sunny conditions, we suggest a
modification to your solar dock post lights which will reduce and eliminate fogging or
moisture build up inside the light. In such climates, a vent hole will allow the light to
breathe.
Moisture inside the lights is not a result of rain water getting inside. Rather, hot and
humid air gets into the light and when that air cools, creates condensation. This
condensation can then accumulate into water. If you are experiencing these effects,
please follow the below modification by adding one or two small vent holes to allow
the light to breathe.
1. Remove the top solar unit and turn the lens upside down on a flat surface.
2. Use a 1/16” to 1/8” size drill bit and drill a VENT hole in the shown location at an angle.
3. Optional
: add second vent hole on the opposite side of the light
