8) Next, you will have to
connect the drive’s power,
IDE and audio cables, as
shown in the figures
below. Connect the cables
in the following order:

A) Connect the power cable from the computer to the DVD drive, paying close
attention to the polarity of the cable.

B) Connect the IDE interface cable. Make sure that Pin 1 on the drive
corresponds to Pin 1 on the cable.

When using one IDE interface cable, place
the Device Configuration Jumper on the
Slave setting, as shown below.
