DEFROSTING

 

 

It

 

is

 

important

 

to

 

defrost

 

and

 

clean

 

the

 

unit

 

when

 

¼

 

to

 

½

 

inch

 

of

 

frost

 

has

 

accumulated

 

around

 

the

 

condenser

 

tubes

 

or

 

when

 

the

 

unit

 

will

 

not

 

maintain

 

proper

 

temperature.

 

When

 

defrosting

 

becomes

 

necessary,

 

press

 

the

 

DEF

 

key

 

for

 

2

 

seconds.

 

The

 

compressor

 

will

 

stop.

 

Remove

 

the

 

product

 

and

 

leave

 

the

 

door

 

open

 

while

 

defrosting

 

the

 

evaporator.

 

The

 

frost

 

should

 

melt

 

and

 

drain

 

through

 

the

 

drain

 

tube

 

to

 

the

 

drain

 

pan

 

under

 

the

 

unit.

  

Once

 

the

 

unit

 

is

 

defrosted,

 

clean

 

it

 

using

 

the

 

cleaning

 

suggestions

 

in

 

the

 

table

 

above.

 

Wipe

 

away

 

any

 

excess

 

water.

 

After

 

25

 

minutes,

 

the

 

unit

 

will

 

automatically

 

return

 

to

 

normal

 

operation.

 

If

 

you

 

wish

 

to

 

end

 

the

 

defrost

 

cycle

 

early,

 

simply

 

press

 

the

 

DEF

 

key

 

again

 

for

 

2

 

seconds.

 

The

 

defrost

 

icon

 

will

 

extinguish

 

on

 

the

 

display

 

and

 

the

 

compressor

 

will

 

return

 

to

 

normal

 

cycling
