3. Computer & LABORIE Software
3.1 Introduction
The information in this chapter will help you to install the LABORIE software
program on the measurement computer.
The Solar Blue measurement system is supplied with a Bluetooth wireless
interface for communication with the computer. To use the wire-less
connection LABORIE has added the Bluetooth dongle for the computer.
Use the manuals supplied with your computer to unpack and set up computer,
monitor and printer.
3.2 Install the LABORIE Software
The Solar Blue measurement system is delivered with one USB or DVD
containing the LABORIE software and the Bluetooth software. Before you can
work with the system, you must install the software and the USB key properly.
Installation of the Bluetooth software and the Bluetooth dongle may be
necessary for using the Bluetooth devices Solar Blue module, Flowmeter Mk
III, Bluetooth puller Mk III and/or Luna module.
CAUTION First install the LABORIE software and then plug-in the
Bluetooth dongle and the USB key.

Using internal Bluetooth chip of the laptop or Bluetooth Dongle?
An integrated BT chip (applicable for laptops) has less power and thus less
range. One BT device which is connected via an integrated BT chip, might
give you a range of +-10 meters. When connecting more BT devices, the
range might become a couple of meters. This is without any other interference.
The Bluetooth dongle has a range of 50 meters (free air, good conditions).
