Shutting Down The Access System
There are several types of software and system shutdowns. Each shutdown option is described below.
Software Shutdown
l
Shut down the software only
- Use the
Exit
command from the
System Menu
to close Tempo software, but keep the
computer on. To restart the software, select the Tempo software icon in the Windows
Start
menu. For more information,
see
Shutting Down The Software Only
. To restart the software, see
Planned Shutdown
l
Shut down the system for maintenance or transport
- Use the
Shutdown
command from the
System Menu
to shut down
the system. To restart the Access system, see the section
Starting The Access System
in
the Access Single and Dual
Robot System Hardware User Guide
. If the system is being started after a transport or extended down time, check with a
Labcyte representative for more information.
Unplanned Shutdown
l
Shut down by the Building Management System (BMS)
- If the Access system receives a signal from the BMS to shut
down, the system stops all runs in progress and runs in the scheduler queue. Once all runs in progress are stopped and
archived, and the system is idle, Tempo automatically initiates a controlled shutdown. At this point, see Shutting Down for
Maintenance or Transport.
l
Shut down the system in an emergency
- Use the E-Stop switch in an emergency to relieve air and vacuum pressure and
stop the robot motion. The
E-Stop
button, which is red and labeled
Emergency Stop
, is installed on the Access system.
See
. To restart the system using the E-Stop recovery procedure, see
