Chapter 6: Using the Recorder Jack

The purpose of the RS232 interface is to send data to a
data collection computer to monitor the state and
activity of the freeze dryer. This data is half duplex
data. The data properties are as follows:
1. Data Rate 2400 Baud
2. 8 Bit word length
3. 1 Start bit, 1 Stop bit
4. No parity is transmitted
5. Standard ASCII character set
The format of the transmitted message is as follows:
COLLCTR = -48
– indicates the temperature of the
collector in degrees Celsius.
VAC = 0018
– indicates the vacuum level of the system
in mBar x 10
-3
.
RFG =ON
– indicates the state of the refrigeration
compressor.
VAC = ON
– indicates the state of the vacuum pump.
