Mounting the ADFA on an antenna mast
With a few centimeters of ice deposition, the weight of the ADFA can
be twice as high. The maximum permissible wind speed is then
reduced. If the ADFA detaches from the mast, it may cause personal
injury and/or damage to the ADFA.
Prevent the formation of larger ice deposits.
Special care must be taken in extreme weather conditions (for example,
storm, hail, lightning storms).
Integrate the ADFA into a lightning protection system. Comply to the
national regulations on lightning protection.
Usage/Installation in extreme conditions
NOTE:
The weight of the ADFA can easily double if ice is deposited on it.
Usage/installation in extreme weather conditions may cause personal
injury and/or damage to the ADFA.
Do not use the ADFA during lightning storms. This also applies to
installations on the vehicle roof.
Extra caution must be taken in extreme weather conditions (for example,
storm, hail).
If ice is deposited on the ADFA, the measurement results may not be as
accurate as under standard conditions.
If there is a risk of corrosion on the mounting unit (for example, on the
fastenings, screws etc.) or to the connectors (antenna/cable) due to
environmental influences (salty air, airborne chemicals, and so forth),
take suitable measures to protect and seal the unit and the connectors.
