6.4 Multiple Modem Configuration
The multiple Modem configuration consists of a master Modem and up to five (5) slave
modems (See Figure 6-10) linked together to increase the data throughput available at
a node. This is also referred to as Modem Stacking or the Stack configuration.
This section explains how to configure a Modem Stack. Modems in a stack also require
extra cabling to connect their frame strobes, IF (RX/TX) distribution, frequency
reference and an Ethernet switch to combine the CDU ports. For more information to
connecting the stack on the rear of the Modem, refer to section 14.2 Modem Stacking

The IP addresses are for illustration purposes only. These settings
are user defined.

6.4.1 Configuring Master Modem
This procedure assumes that all modems are set to factory defaults with the IP address
set to 192.0.1.2.
