5.2.3.8 Attitude Failure Indications
For the Attitude Failure Indication, the pitch ladder, roll pointer, and slip/skid indicator are removed
leaving the roll scale and the aircraft symbol visible on a cyan background. The large characters “ATT
FAIL” appears centered above the aircraft symbol, having the AIR DATA FAILURE COLOR based on
unit configuration. Refer to Figure 5-4.

5.2.3.9 Extended Maneuver Indication

“EXT MANUV” is shown in small white characters at the bottom of the display whenever the
system experiences erection cut-off for a duration, which is long enough for potential attitude errors
to develop.

Units configured for heading display the Extended Maneuver indication whenever heading alignment
criteria are not met.
3.
After appearing, the Extended Maneuver indication is removed when any of the following occur:
•
Normal erection and heading alignment (if configured for heading) are restored.
•
The attitude failure indication is shown. (Refer to Figure 5-4).
5.2.3.10 Attitude Declutter
When there is an excessive attitude situation, the NAV data is removed to declutter the display. The data
is removed when:
•
Roll attitude > + 65
°
or < -65
°
from center index mark on the roll scale.
•
Pitch attitude > + 30
°
or < - 20
°
.
Navigation data return to the display area within two degrees inside the above limits. The hysteresis is 2°
on the above limits for the data to be returned on the display.
