5.2.2.4.3 Display Option Retention
The display option settings controlled by the following menu items are restored to the last selected values
after power is cycled:

ILS [BC or NORMAL]

5.2.2.4.4 Display Declutter
When the menu mode is initiated, the NAV data is removed to declutter the display.
5.2.3 Operational Formats
The following formats describe how data is shown for various modes of operation. Characters that are
used in the display formats are limited to three heights identified as small, medium, or large.
5.2.3.1 Menu Display
The menu mode has a black background with dim white menu items (commands). Highlighted menu
items are white with a white “>” symbol preceding the item.
5.2.3.2 Attitude Data
Attitude data is shown in the form of a pitch ladder, a roll pointer, a roll scale, a slip / skid indicator and
aircraft reference symbol. Refer to full screen display as shown in Figure 5-2.

5.2.3.3 Pitch Ladder
The pitch ladder consists of a series of parallel white lines, orthogonal to, and centered on, an imaginary
line which runs vertically through the center of the attitude display area when the aircraft is at zero roll.
The pitch ladder rotates about the center of the attitude display area with an angle equal to the roll angle
of the aircraft. The pitch ladder is drawn so that the present value of pitch is at the center of the attitude
display area, coincident with the boresight mark.
