Set the ACTIVE NETWORK PORT to EIA-232 or EIA-530A

The STE must have power applied but should not be connected to the BDI service while making the initial
settings. You do not need a FORTEZZA PLUS

KRYPTON™

ENHANCED CRYPTOCARD for any installation

procedure, including placing the initial (test) call.

The ACTIVE NETWORK PORT setting determines which service the STE will use to operate.

Table 2-24

provides a listing of the variables associated with BDI services and the factory default settings. Update
the table to reflect the correct setting for your installation.
