The Inspect feature is deactivated when the call during which the Inspect feature was activated is

9-4.3.7 Personal Central Office (CO) Line
The Personal CO Line feature allows you to receive and initiate calls directly via a specific analog trunk
from the service provider’s central office (CO) to the DEFINITY switch. When using the Personal CO Line
feature, bridged call alerting must be enabled on the DEFINITY switch for the call to ring at the terminal.
This feature must be assigned to a call appearance/feature button with an LED.
9-4.3.8 Priority
Calling
The Priority Calling feature allows you to call another extension on the local switch with a distinctive ring,
which is controlled by the alerting pattern provided by the switch, to indicate your call requires immediate
attention. Feature use for each telephone user is administered through their class of service.
The following types of calls are always priority-calling calls:
•
Call coverage consult
•
Automatic callback
•
Ringback queuing
•
Attendant intrusion
•
Security violation notification
Incoming Priority Calls received on a STE-8510 annunciate PRIORITY on the STE display.

Pressing the call appearance/feature button assigned to the Last Number Dialed feature activates a Call

does not require a call appearance/feature button with a lighted LED.
9-4.3.10 Return Call (Different From 5ESS Return Call)
When you press the feature button assigned to Return Call, the STE initiates a call to the currently
displayed number. (The number may be from a leave word-calling message.) This feature does not
require a call appearance/feature button with a lighted LED.

When set to the STE-8510 switch type, the STE can support any combination of up to six non-data bearer
call appearances mixed between station's primary directory number and bridged call appearances on the
same terminal when connected to a properly configured DEFINITY switch.
These appearances may provide additional access from the public network, and/or may originate unique
dial tone for additional outgoing. Call appearances must be assigned to a call appearance/feature button
with a lighted LED.
9-5. 5ESS SECURE CALLING
When connected to the 5ESS switch, the STE-8510 supports outgoing or incoming secure voice and data

voice and data bearers.
