Upon successful negotiation of the call, the STE will perform the signaling to accomplish the Rekey.
When the far-end initiates rekey the “Going Secure To” menu (

During the rekey process, numerous activities take place. Among them is the status menu (
In the menu “XXXXXXXX” can be either REQUEST or RESPONSE, depending if your request is being
processed or if the rekey (response) is in progress. A 4-window bar shows the progression of the
identified task.

Various error conditions are possible during an SDNS Rekey attempt. Some errors are managed
automatically by the STE, other errors are recoverable by placing the Rekey call again, and under some
conditions, the errors are not recoverable and the TPA must be contacted. In each of these cases, you
are advised via the STE display of the appropriate action, e.g.,
