8.14. REAR BRAKE PADS
The clearance between the brake pads and brake discs is
adjusted automatically as the pads wear. The only
maintenance that is required is to replace brake pads when
they become worn. To check the thickness of the brake pads
use this procedure.
1.
Remove a rear wheel.
2.
Measure the thickness of each brake pad. If the
thickness of less than1.0mm (0.039in), take your ATV to
a KYMCO dealer to have brake pads replaced.
3.
Reinstall the wheel and tighten the lug nuts to 61N-m.
8.15. BRAKE FLUID INSPECTION
Check if the fluid level is below the lower level mark through the
inspection window.
(1)
Lower level mark (sight glass)
NOTE
(1) Check the brake fluid level in brake fluid reservoir. If the
level in the reservoir is not visible in the sight glass and
below the lower lever mark, add DOT 4 brake fluid.
(2) If the sight glass appears dark, there is sufficient amount of
fluid reservoir.
(3) Be careful not to spill any fluid when filling the brake fluid
reservoir. Wipe away spilled fluid immediately.
