12.8 Installing the fork protector

Position the fork protection on the right fork leg. Mount and tighten screws


Guideline
Remaining screws, chassis M6 10 Nm (7.4 lbf ft)

Position the fork protection on the left fork leg. Mount and tighten screws


Remaining screws, chassis M6 10 Nm (7.4 lbf ft)

Position the brake line, wiring harness, and clamp. Mount and tighten screws  .
12.9 Removing the lower triple clamp
Preparatory work
–
Switch off all power consumers and switch off the engine.
–
Remove the headlight mask with the headlight. ( p. 75)
–
Raise the motorcycle with the lift stand. ( p. 38)
–
Remove the front wheel. ( p. 68)
–
Remove the fork legs. ( p. 39)
–
Remove the front fender. ( p. 45)

Main work
–
Remove the cable holder on both sides in front of the radiator.

Remove screw


Remove screw  , take off the upper triple clamp with the handlebar and set it
aside.
Info
Cover the components to protect them against damage.
Do not bend the cables and lines.

Remove O-ring  . Remove protective ring  .

Take out the lower triple clamp with the steering stem.
–
Take out the upper steering head bearing.
