Assembly into the Container
Assembly and servicing of the FFG-T...EX sensor in areas exposed to danger of
explosion shall be in accordance with the provisions stipulated by ElexV and
the Act on Appliance Safety and shall be in accordance with all applicable rules
of technology and the present operating instructions.
Moreover, please also observe all local safety and accident preventing regulations that have
not been expressly mentioned in these operating instructions.
This section describes the assembly of the FFG-T-..EX system provided with a screw-in thread. In the
event that your FFG-T...EX system, for a stationary assembly within the container, is provided with a
flange, the FFG-T...EX-system will be fixed to the container by means of flanged screws.
Make sure, during assembly that the probe tube be not bent and that the float be
not exposed to shock.
The FFG-T...Ex sensor having Ex-permission must be so mounted that the probe
head be not located in the Ex-zone 0.
The FFG-T...EX systems, depending on the design thereof, will be mounted into the container by
means of a flange or a screw-in thread. (For details of the assembly option of your FFG-T...EX
system please refer to the type identification affixed to
the product).
Make sure, prior to assembly, that the assembly port
provided on the container and the attachment means of
the FFG-T...EX system conform in size and dimension.
Depending on the design of the FFG-T...EX system,
assembly thereof into the container must be externally.
Assembly must be in the vertical position. To insure a
safe function, the angle of assembly is allowed to differ
from the vertical by 30°, at best.
The slide tube of the FFG-T...EX sensor is to be
externally introduced through the assembly port of the
container.
Attachment thereof is by tightening the in-screw thread
in respect of threaded plugs; by bolting the cap nut in
respect of milk tube threads; screwing in respect of
flange-type designs or closing of the locking rings
(articulated clamp) in triclamp-type clamp connections.
FFG-T...EX
sensors
having
in-screw
threads are to be screwed across the entire
thread length.
FFG-T...EX systems having milk tube
threads are furnished, ex factory, with
suitable cap nuts.
FFG-T...EX systems of flange-type design are to be
fixed by suitable screws, washers or nuts.
FFG-T...EX systems having clamp connections of the
triclamp type are to be secured by means of suitable
locking rings (articulated clamp).
Please observe the torque value of the screws!
