Remove the jug.
☛
The coffee may sometimes have a cloudy appearance due to the quality of the water, the
type of coffee grounds used or how finely the coffee is ground. We suggest that you stir
the coffee in the jug.
☛
In the event that filtering takes considerably longer than normal, check that the appliance
does not need to be descaled. (Operation described in the Descaling section further on)
At the end of the coffee cycle, switch off your machine by turning the switch to OFF.
☛
After 15 minutes in the ON position, the machine will automatically switch to the OFF
position for energy-saving purposes.
☛
NOTE: As the machine switches off automatically after 15 min, put it in the OFF position
before starting another coffee cycle, if not the machine will switch itself off during the cycle.
See the MAKING COFFEE section again.
This coffee maker is equipped with a practical cord winding system located under the
appliance.

☛
Never plunge the body of the appliance into water. Always unplug the appliance and leave
it to cool down before cleaning it.
The water tank and the boiler are made of stainless steel and are thus easy to clean. Never
clean the water tank with scouring powders; simply wipe with a damp cloth.
☛
Do not attempt to remove limescale deposits with abrasive materials or objects; they could
lodge themselves in the pipe and block it (see the “descaling” paragraph).
The jug, filter holder and lid are dishwasher safe.
Wash the lid of the filter holder with hot water and washing-up liquid and then rinse it
thoroughly and carefully.
Every so often, unlock the wheel on the underside of the filter lid and clean the inner part
of the lid.
(13)
☛
After a certain period of use, there is the risk that the lid of the water tank or of the filter
holder or the hot water pipe may no longer close perfectly. This is due to the deterioration
of the seals. Spare seals can be obtained from a Service Centre.
To remove the seal from its position, use a suitable instrument (a screwdriver, for example)
and make sure that the new seal is properly inserted and held in place.
(14)
The appliance must be descaled from time to time, according to the hardness of your
water.
Descaling becomes necessary when the coffee filtering takes considerably longer than
usual or when a whitish layer has formed at the bottom of the boiler.
