Malfunction (2):
The knot gets stuck on the billhook.
Possible cause
Remedy

Worn or rough points on bill-
hook or billhook tongue bent.
Replace the billhook.
2.2
Not enough twine tension on
the lower twine strand.
Hold tight the twine brake at the lower twine strand:
Tighten the spring (6) by turning the wing nut (5) once or
twice.
Remove any dirt deposits in all twine guide eyes (1), the
twine brake (7) and on the swing angle (3).
Replace broken springs (6), twine tension springs (4) or
worn twine guide eyes (1).
Replace broken or worn brake wheels (2).
2.3
Holding force of the twine re-
tainer is too low.
Set the holding force of the twine retainer,
.
Degrease the twine retainer.
2.4
Too much tension on the knot-
ter tongue.
The billhook tongue (3) needs a slight minimum tension.
For this reason, never loosen it completely.
Loosen the billhook tongue (3):
Determine the present pretensioning force with the simplest
means: Place the screwdriver (4) below the billhook tongue
(3) and turn it. This way, determine the existing tension.
Lossen the nut (2) on the leaf spring (1) by about 60°.
Place the screwdriver (4) below the billhook tongue (3) and
determine the newly set tension by turning the screwdriver.
