Checking the twine bar relative to the channel slot
Pull the linch pin and swivel up the knotter.
Repeat this process for all knotters.
Push the twine pusher (2) manually towards the channel slot (6).
Check the dimension X between the tip of the twine pusher and the channel slot (6).
If the dimension is
X=0–5 mm
, the setting is correct.
If the dimension is
not X=0–5 mm
, the twine pusher (2) must be set.
Setting the twine pusher
Unscrew counter nut (1) and nut (5).
Turn the control linkage (3) until the dimension is
X=0–5 mm
.
Tighten counter nut (2) and nut (5).
Repeat this procedure for all twine pushers.
Check the twine pushers for ease of movement.
Release twine pusher shaft

Swivel the twine pusher by hand.

If the twine pusher can be swivelled easily, the setting is correct.

If the twine bar can only be swivelled with difficulty, there may be several causes for this:
1.
If the control linkage is bent, it must be replaced.
2.
If the joint bearing is corroded, it must be replaced.
3.
If the axial play in the twine locking shaft is too low, remove shim ring.
Rectify cause 1 to 3 and recheck and set the twine pusher,
Swing the knotter down and secure with the linch pin.
Repeat this process for all knotters.
Repeat this procedure for all twine pushers.
