Non-Standard Installation
We recommend the use of the automatic regulator valve to balance water flow between Kreepy
Krauly and the skimmer. When attaching Kreepy Krauly to a dedicated vacuum line, the
automatic regulator valve should be installed “in-line” (that is, between two hose sections).
When installing the automatic regulator valve in-line, follow the procedure below.
1. Close the main drain and all suction lines, except the line to which Kreepy Krauly will be
connected.
2. Turn pool pump off.
3. Prepare an attachment point for Kreepy Krauly by
using the vacuum line adapter kit. (The vacuum line
adapter is not included with your Kreepy Krauly,
but can be purchased from your Kreepy Krauly
dealer.) The vacuum line adapter is threaded into
the end of the dedicated suction line.
4. Press the in-line valve cone, provided with your
Kreepy Krauly, onto the bottom of the automatic
regulator valve. (Note: The end of the valve that
is marked “attach hose this end” is the top of the
automatic regulator valve.) See Figure 12.
5. As a safety measure, the automatic regulator
valve should be encased in a strainer guard.
This strainer guard keeps swimmers and other
objects safely away from the flow to the automatic
regulator valve. NOTE: The strainer guard is
an accessory available for purchase from your
Kreepy Krauly dealer.
6. Place the ends of the automatic regulator valve
through the halves of the strainer guard and snap
the halves together. See Figure 13.
