IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Warnings

This Service Manual has been provided for the use of authorized Korg service personnel. It has
been assumed that basic service procedures inherent to Korg products, and in general to standard
electric/electronic equipment, are already known and understood by the users and have therefore
not been restated.

Failure to follow appropriate service and safety procedures when servicing this product may result
in personal injury, damage of expensive equipment and failure of the product to perform as
designed. For these reasons we advise Korg customers that all service required should be
performed by an authorized Korg Service Center.

Static discharges can damage expensive components. Discharge any static electricity your body
may have accumulated by grounding yourself to the ground bus in the unit.

Turn the unit OFF and unplug the apparatus during servicing, disassembly and parts replacement.
Recheck all work before you apply again power to the unit.

This apparatus must be earthed.
 To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock do not expose this product to water, rain or moisture.
 Date/time Lithium button cell battery inside. Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced.
The internal date/time Lithium button cell battery is not user replaceable.

NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) Battery Pack inside used to keep the RAMs in self-refresh mode.
Danger of explosion
if NiMH battery-pack is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same type
(KORG BAT0001002). The internal NiMH battery is user replaceable (see the Pa3X User's
Manual).
 Do not expose batteries to excessive heat, such as direct sunshine, fire or the like.

Dispose of used batteries according to the battery manufacturer’s instructions.

Options handling: instructions how to install and use the official Korg options are available in the
Pa3X User's Manual. A separate Service Manual for each option it is available for servicing
procedures. Missing service manuals can be ordered to the Korg distributor’s Service Division.
Data Handling
 Data in memory may sometimes be lost during servicing procedure or incorrect operation . We
recommend that you backup all the internal memory data to an external USB device and keep it in
a safe place disconnected from this product.
To protect against data loss through media damage,
we recommend that you save important data onto two USB storage devices/external media.
Backup procedures are explained in this Manual in the Media/Utility chapter. Korg will not be
responsible for damages caused by data loss.
