5.1.
Opening and Closing the Chassis
The KBox F-300-V1K is factory configured to meet customer requirements. Kontron does
not recommend opening the system as this may cause damage to internal components.
Before opening the KBox F-300-V1K, the system must be switched off and disconnected
from the main power supply. Also, disconnect all peripheral devices from the KBox F-
300-V1K. Before you begin, ensure that you have a clean, flat and ESD-safe surface to
work on.
For opening and closing the KBox F-300-V1K, please perform the following steps:
1.
Close all applications. Shut down the system properly and disconnect the connection to the main power source.
Disconnect all peripherals.
To access DDR4 SO-DIMM, SATA, mPCIe and M.2 Key B slots / sockets / connectors

The KBox F-300-V1K should lay on a flat, clean surface with the top side facing upwards.

Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (two located on the top side of the chassis), that secure the top access
cover to the chassis. Retain the screws for later use.

4.
Slightly slide the top access cover rearward to disengage it from the chassis. Some pressure may be required.
