CONTINUOUS-ADVANCE MODE
The continuous-advance drive mode allow a series of
images to be captured while holding down the
shutter-release button. The number of images that
can be captured at one time and the rate of capture
depend on the image-size and image-quality
settings. The maximum rate of capture is
approximately 1.5 fps. This drive mode is set in
section 1 of the recording menu.

Compose the picture as described in the basic
recording operation section (p. 22).
Press the shutter-release button partway down (1) to
lock the focus exposure for the series.
Press and hold the shutter-release button all the way
down (2) to begin taking pictures; focus is locked with
the first frame. When the shutter-release button is
pressed and held, the camera will begin recording
images until the maximum number has been taken or
the shutter button is released.

The use of the built-in flash, the continuous-AF focus mode, or date imprinting (p. 89)
reduces the rate of capture. The maximum number of images that can be captured with
different image quality and size is as follows:
If the continuous AF focus mode (p. 54) is selected, the focus for the series is not locked.
The AF system focuses between each frame. The exposure for the series is locked when
the shutter-release button is pressed partway down.
