will last for a long period of time. Additional lubrication of the hull unit must only take
place when required.
Note
Do not use grease on the hoisting spindle. Use a machine oil that is insoluble in water, does
not dry out, and can withstand the rotation without causing stains.
Procedure
1
Inspect the ball bearings on the top and the bottom of the hoisting spindle.
2
Inspect the hoisting spindle.
3
Consider whether it is necessary to lubricate the hoisting spindle.
4
Apply a thin layer of lubricant if required.
Note
Do not use excessive amounts of lubricant. If you use too much lubricant, there will be
a lot of splashes and spills when the CS90 system is turned on.

Lubricating the transducer shaft sleeve
The transducer shaft sleeve is a vital part of the hull unit. It supports the transducer
shaft, and allows the shaft to move down and up to lower and hoist the transducer. The
transducer shaft sleeve is filled with grease. The grease ensures that the vertical movement
of the transducer shaft is not limited by friction. The grease also ensures that the entire
construction is waterproof.
Prerequisites
The CS90 system is turned off. No special tools are required for this task. The following
specific consumable is required for this task:
• Grease
Use an industrial grease designed for heavy-duty applications. The grease must provide
efficient protection against rust and corrosion, and resist water washout.
