Operation
It is recommended that upon first use, you operate the kettle several times as explained
below, then discard the water to rid the kettle of dust or other materials from the
manufacturing process.
1. Open the lid by pressing down the lid release button, then fill the kettle with
water. Then close the lid, as the automatic cut-off function will not operate once
the water is boiling with the lid open.
Caution
: the water level must be between the “max” and “min” levels as
indicated in the housing. Too little water will cause damage to the heating
element, whereas too much water may result in water spilling from the top
during boiling.
2. Place the kettle onto the power base and connect the base to the power supply.
Place the kettle so that the spout of the kettle is facing away from you and other
people.
3. Click the power switch and the water will start to heat up. Do not open the lid
while the water is boiling.
Caution
: ensure that the switch is clear of obstructions and that the lid is firmly
closed. The kettle will not turn off if the switch is blocked or the lid is open.
4. Power will cut off once water is boiled.
5. Lift the kettle up from the base and pour the water.
Note
: operate carefully and pour the water away from you, as boiling water will
scald.
6. If you press the power switch again, the kettle will go into standby mode and will
display the current temperature of the water.
Caution
: never operate the kettle while empty. In the event of this happening, the
thermal cut-off inside the kettle would operate, cutting off the power
automatically. Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down completely before
using it again.
Note
: ensure the power is turned off when the kettle is not in use.
