Utensils Guide
• The ideal material for microwaves utensils is
transparent to microwaves. It allows energy
to pass through the container and heat the
food but not the container.
• Microwaves cannot penetrate metal. Metal
utensils will become hot and sparks might
occur. So metal utensils or dishes with
metallic trim should not be used inside a
microwave oven.
• Do not use recycled paper products when
microwave cooking as they may contain
small metal fragments which may cause
sparks and/or fires. Remove wire twist-ties
from paper or plastic bags before placing
bag in oven.
• Use round and oval containers rather than
square ones as food in corners tends to
overcook.
• Plastic container can be used in microwave
mode but not for grill or combined mode.
Metal utensils can be used in grill mode but
never in microwave or combined mode.
