Using the Zoom
Use optical zoom to get closer to your subject before taking a picture or video. (If the
zoom button is pressed
during
video recording, then digital zoom is used.)

Use the LCD to frame your subject. (For focus distances, see
Specifications,
page 59
.)

To zoom in, turn the zoom clockwise, aiming the pointer at T (Telephoto “+”). To
zoom out, turn the zoom counter-clockwise, aiming the pointer at W (Wide Angle
“-”).

Take the picture or video.
NOTE: To get a focused picture every time, use the Focus brackets (
page 9
). You cannot zoom in Super
Macro focus mode (
page 15
).
