5. Attaching the Sander To a Vacuum
The sander can be connected to a 2-1/4 in. or
1-1/4 in. diameter vacuum hose to help keep the
work area clean.
To install a 2-1/4 in. vacuum hose
a. Remove the battery from the tool.
b. Turn the dust bag (F) counterclockwise to the
UNLOCK position and remove it from the sander.
c. Attach a 2-1/4 in. vacuum hose to the dust-
exhaust adaptor (E).
To install a 1-1/4 in. vacuum hose
a. Remove the battery and the dust bag (F) from
the dust-exhaust adaptor (E).
b. Pull the dust exhaust adaptor backward to
remove it from the dust connection (D).
c. Attach a 1-1/4 in. vacuum hose to the dust
connection.
6. Installing Sandpaper
Selecting the correct size grit and type sandpaper
is an extremely important step in achieving a high
quality sanded finish.
In general, coarse grit will remove the most material
and finer grit will produce the best finish in all sanding
operations. The condition of the surface to be sanded
will determine which grit and type will do the job. Start
with sandpaper on a test sample of the workpiece.
a. Remove the battery from the tool.
b. Align the holes in the sandpaper (G) with the
holes in the sanding pad (C), then press the
fuzzy side of the sandpaper against the pad as
tightly as possible.
