8.6 Replacing pH electrode
If you wish to replace the pH electrode, proceed as follows:
The device has been switched off.
The power plug has been pulled.
There is no more flow in the pH flow cell. If necessary, short-circuit the
capillary connections by means of a coupling in order to prevent the
eluent/buffer from running out of the system.

nection of the pH monitor to
the conductivity monitor and, if
necessary, provide connection

with a BNC dummy plug.

Loosen the locking ring

and remove it from the pH
electrode to be replaced.

Remove the pH electrod

Install and rinse the new pH electrode according to chapter 4.3.1.
9. Transportation and storage
Carefully prepare the device for transport or storage. If you want to return
your device to KNAUER for repairs, enclose the

If you do not operate the CM 2.1S or the flow cell for longer than
2 weeks, we recommend storing the flow cell in a dry place.
9.1 Preparing wetted components
Flush the CM flow cell according to chapter 8.3.
Flush the pH flow cell and pH electrode according to chapter 8.5.
