This is a mode not available with all cutters in SCAL. It was needed for use with the Orbitizer but can also 
have other useful applications, such as cutting a shape from the center front of a greeting card.

Shapes can be located anywhere on the virtual 

Cutting Mat

. The shapes will be moved and centered 

around the origin you set on the material. While in the other two cut modes, the origin is typically set just 
inside the lower right corner of the mat or material, with
