3. Remarks in respect of the determined use
The K06-K09L is a mechanical crimping tool with built-in non interchangeable rotatory die
discs.
The crimping process is defined by the closing motion of the die discs (Pos. 1). The die discs
approach one another, respectively the connector, in a circular movement. The crimp is
completed when the handles are completely closed and the discs contacted one another.
To set the tool to a new cross section the tool must be opened completely. Actuate the buttons
(Pos. 2) until the die discs can be revolved. Adjust the die disc to the required cross section.
Release the buttons and make sure that the angle locks snap back into position and lock the
dies securely.
Operating tools with a ratchet the handles must first be opened completely. Then the tool
must be closed completely, meaning that the crimping cycle is properly terminated. The
ratchet excludes a premature termination of the crimping cycle. Should it be necessary to
interrupt a crimping cycle due to a mismatch of connector and die cross-section the tool can
be opened by disengaging ratchet pawl allowing the tool to open (see picture 2).
