After brewing
Carry out the following operations after each use of the appliance in order to retain
proper function of the appliance and prevent mould from forming:
CAUTION
Danger of burning! Observe the following safety precautions to avoid
burning yourself. Always allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning.
Emptying / cleaning the fi lter
• Press the unlocking button (5) to open the fi lter compartment (10).
• Remove the fi lter insert (11) with the fi lter bag from the fi lter compartment.
• Throw the fi lter bag away and wash the fi lter insert (11) and drip protector (9).
CARE AND CLEANING
NOTE: Turn off the unit, and unplug it from the wall outlet before maintenance or
cleaning to avoid electric shock.
• Wait until the appliance has cooled down before you start to clean it.
• Never immerse the appliance or the plug into water or other liquids.
• Do not use sharp objects or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the surfaces.
• Clean the fi lter insert (11) and coffee jug (7) after each use. The coffee jug, lid and
fi lter insert can be washed in a dish washer. Remove the lid of the coffee jug fi rst as
described in the section Removing/fi tting the coffee jug lid.
• If necessary, clean the grinder (2) and the grinder cover (1).
• Wipe the housing with a moist cloth. Use a little washing-up liquid to remove any
stubborn stains.
