FAN KIT SERVICING AND REPLACEMENT
It is important to clean fan yearly from lint and dust buid-up. This will prolong the life of your fan. Before working on an electrical fan, ensure
that appliance is unplugged.
1.
Remove the logs from the unit. Handle logs with care as they become brittle after use.
2.
Unplug 110 Volt power from fan kit. Remove the 8 1/4” hex screws as shown in Figure 1 of rear log support.
3a. For fan servicing - reverse vacuum and blow lint or dirt build-up from fan blades and motor.
3b. For fan replacement - Remove the 3 1/4” hex screws, lift fan slightly and remove wires. Replace fan bracket to new fan and attach wires to
new fan. Make sure wire terminals are bent in the downward position. This will allow for easier installation. Replace the fan kit into its
original position. Plug fan kit in and check before replacing rear log support.
4.
Replace rear log support. It is important to reseal with a high heat silicon sealant (part # 1000-150GE). If not sealed properly, the fan will
affect combustion and cause an improper burn.
5.
Replace logs as per the log placement diagram found in the installation manual.
