Important Precautions
When using electrical appliances, basic precautions need to be followed at all times to reduce the
risk of fire, electrical shock and injury.
Read the handbook prior to using the appliance.
Ensure the power source conforms to the electrical requirements of the appliance 220 – 240
volts.
This appliance will get hot when in use. To avoid injury, do not touch hot surfaces.
The room you intend using the appliance has a working smoke detector.
Use this electrical appliance as described in this manual, any other use is not recommended by
the manufacturer and could have a detrimental effect on the durability of the appliance and/or
the safety of the user.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capability has or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their
safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not touch or play with the appliance.
Unplug from the mains power supply prior to moving the appliance or, conducting any servicing,
cleaning or when not in use.
Do not use outdoors.
Do not run the power lead under carpeting or cover with rugs or similar coverings.
Do not use extension leads, unless advised by a qualified electrician; using the wrong type could
cause increased resistance resulting in heat damage to carpets, fixtures and fittings.
It is normal for the plug to feel warm to the touch; however, a loose fit between the plug socket
and the plug may cause overheating and distortion of the plug. Contact a qualified electrician to
replace the worn plug socket.
The warnings, precautions, in this instruction manual, cannot cover all possible conditions and
situations that may occur. It must be understood by the operator that common sense and
caution are factors, which cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the
operator.
Important Safeguards
The appliance must not be used in potentially dangerous locations such as flammable, explosive,
chemical-laden or wet atmospheres where petrol or flammable liquids are used or stored.
Do not use in a bathroom or in an area that could allow it to get wet.
Keep combustible materials such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at
least 3 feet (0.9m) from the appliance.
Completely assemble the product prior to connecting to the mains supply.
Never operate the appliance with a damaged power lead or plug or after the appliance
malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any way.
There are no internally serviceable parts, do not attempt to disassemble.
Never cover the appliance or use to dry laundry or sit on it.
Do not operate without all relevant safety guards in place.
Always place the unit on a stable, flat, level surface when operating to avoid the possibility of
tipping over. Locate the power lead in such a way to prevent causing a trip or damage to the
lead.
