Overheat pr otection
When the internal temperature of the tester rises to an abnormal le v el, the protection
function acti v ates. “O VERHEA T” fl ashes on the LCD, and the test stops. Abnormal
temperatures are caused by a reduction in the air fl o w of the air inlet or outlet, mal -
functioning of the f an or other components, and operations at high temperatures.
Usually , the internal temperature f alls to a normal le v el in approximately 10 minutes
if there is no malfunctioning of the f an. Once the temperature returns to the normal
le v el, press the ST OP switch to cancel the protection function.
Abnormal temperatures may be caused by the malfunctioning of the f an if the pro -
tection function acti v ates frequently .

Time restriction b y the output current
The tester is designed to release heat that is half the rated output in consideration of
the tester’ s size, weight, cost, and other f actors. Therefore, to conduct an A C with -
standing v oltage test with an upper current of 50 mA, it is necessary to pro vide a
pause longer than the output time. Note that the maximum output time is 30 minutes
(at an ambient temperature of 40 ˚ C or belo w). During a test, if a current of 50 mA
or greater is detected for 30 minutes or more, the protection function acti v ates.
“O VERHEA T” fl ick ers on the LCD, and the test stops. There is no time restriction
when the tester is operated belo w 50 mA.
T o cancel the protection function, turn of f the PO WER switch.

Abnormal 24-V output
When the DC 24-V output of the ST A TUS connector or SIGN AL I/O connector suf -
fers an o v erload or other abnormality , the protection function acti v ates, “24V OCP”
fl ashes on the LCD.
