Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) (Front
view camera only)
䳜 For pedestrians the vehicle speed
is greater than or equal to 10 km/
h and less than 80 km/h.
(Depending on the condition of
pedestrians and the surrounding
environment the possible maxi
-
mum operating speed may be
reduced.)
- If you select "Warning Only",
FCA system activates and pro
-
duces only warning alarms in
accordance with the collision
risk levels. You should control
the brake directly because FCA
system do not control the
brake.
Brake operation
䳜 In an urgent situation, the braking
system enters into the ready sta
-
tus for prompt reaction to assist
the driver in depressing the brake
pedal.
䳜 FCA provides additional braking
power for optimum braking per
-
formance, when the driver
depresses the brake pedal.
䳜 The braking control is automati
-
cally deactivated, when the driver
sharply depresses the accelera
-
tor pedal, or when the driver
abruptly operates the steering
wheel.
䳜 The braking control is automati
-
cally canceled, when risk factors
disappear.
CAUTION
䳜 The driver should always use
extreme caution while operating
the vehicle, whether or not there
is a warning message or alarm
from FCA system.
䳜 If any other warning sound such
as seat belt warning chime is
already generated, Forward Colli
-
sion-Avoidance Assist system
warning may not sound.
䳜 After the brake control is acti
-
vated, the driver must immedi
-
ately depress the brake pedal and
check the surroundings. The
brake activation by the system
lasts for about 2 seconds.
WARNING
The braking control cannot com
-
pletely stop the vehicle nor avoid all
collisions. The driver should hold the
responsibility to safely drive and
control the vehicle.
WARNING
The FCA system logic operates
within certain parameters, such as
the distance from the vehicle, or a
pedestrian ahead, the speed of the
vehicle ahead, and the driver's vehi
-
cle speed. Certain conditions such as
inclement weather and road condi
-
tions may affect the operation of
FCA system.
