HEAD-UP DISPLAY (HUD)

5

The Head-Up Display (HUD) is a transparent display that projects a snippet of information

from the instrument cluster and navigation onto the windshield glass. To turn HUD ON or

OFF, go to User Settings in the Audio head unit.
HUD information may display:

•  Turn By Turn (TBT)

navigation information

•  Road signs

•  Speedometer

•  Cruise setting speed

•  Smart Cruise Control (SCC) information

6

•  A/V mode information

•  Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW)

system information

6

•  Warning lights (low fuel)

Reminder:

If Turn By Turn (TBT) navigation information is selected as HUD content, TBT information

will not be displayed on the LCD.

BLIND-SPOT COLLISION-AVOIDANCE ASSIST (BCA)

6

The BCA system uses radar sensors in the rear bumper to help monitor, and

can warn the driver if it detects an approaching vehicle in the driver’s blind spot

area. The light on the BCA button

A

 will illuminate when turned ON.

The system will become active when the vehicle is traveling more than 20 mph

and will alert the driver if another vehicle is detected by the radar sensor.

1st-stage alert:

When another vehicle is detected within the BCA System warning

boundary, a yellow indicator will illuminate on the outside rearview mirrors.

2nd-stage alert:

When the 1st-stage alert is on and the driver activates a turn

signal, a flashing yellow indicator will illuminate on the outside rearview mirrors

and the system will sound an alert.
The BCA system may apply braking power if the vehicle is traveling more than

40 mph and the turn indicator is on when the approaching vehicle is detected

within a certain distance next to and/or behind your vehicle.

Reminder:

•  The BCA system will not issue a warning if the vehicle speed is 6 mph or more above

the surrounding vehicles.

•  When the BCA system is ON and the ignition is cycled, the BCA system returns to ON.

BLIND-SPOT VIEW MONITOR (BVM)

6

The Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM) system displays the passenger-side rear areas in the

cluster when the system is activated. To turn the BVM system on, go to the User Settings

in the audio control unit. The BVM system is activated when the ignition switch is turned to

the ON position and the turn signal is activated.

To deactivate the BVM system:

•  Deactivate the turn signal.

•  Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

LANE KEEPING ASSIST (LKA)

6

 / LANE DEPARTURE WARNING (LDW)

6

With the Engine Start/Stop button in the ON position, press the LKA/LDW button

A

 to turn

the system ON. The instrument cluster indicator will initially illuminate white. It will remain

white when the vehicle is traveling less than 40 mph and the system does not detect lane

markers. When the system detects lane markers and can assist the steering, the LKA icon

will illuminate green.
If the LKA detects that you are moving outside of your lane, the system may give an

audible warning and display an LDW alert on the instrument cluster. If the vehicle continues

to move outside of the lane, the LKA may apply a slight adjustment to the steering, trying

to prevent the vehicle from moving outside its lane.
LKA is the operating mode by default when the LKA button is depressed to ON. To switch

between modes (Active LKA and Lane Departure), go to User Settings in the audio control unit.
All systems will operate under the following conditions:

•  The vehicle exceeds approximately 40 mph.

•  The LKA system recognizes both sides of the lane markers the vehicle is traveling in.

•  The vehicle is between the lane markers.

DRIVER ATTENTION WARNING (DAW)

7

The DAW system is designed to help detect certain inattentive driving practices and, in

certain situations, can give a warning signal to the driver to take a break from driving. The

DAW system is set to ON by default. To turn the DAW System OFF, go to Vehicle Settings

on the audio head unit. Select Vehicle > Driver Assistance > Driver Attention Warning. Set

the DAW System to Normal, High Sensitivity or Off.

Driver Attention Warning (DAW) system modes:

Off:

The Driver Attention Warning system is deactivated.

Normal Sensitivity:

The Driver Attention Warning system alerts the driver if it detects

inattentive driving practices.

High Sensitivity:

The Driver Attention Warning system alerts the driver faster than Normal

mode if it detects inattentive driving practices.
If the DAW system is activated, the DAW information will appear on the LCD Display

when you select the ASSIST mode. When the driver’s attention level is below one bar, the

message “Consider taking a break” appears on the LCD display and a warning sounds to

suggest the driver take a break.

REAR CROSS-TRAFFIC COLLISION AVOIDANCE ASSIST (RCCA)

6

If the RCCA system sensors detect vehicles approaching from the left or right side, the

system will sound an audible alert, the warning indicators on the outside rearview mirror

will illuminate, and a message will appear on the LCD screen under these conditions:

•  When the vehicle is in Reverse

•  When the vehicle is moving less than 6 mph

The RCCA system can be deactivated/reactivated through the audio head unit screen.
