Pin Depth
Pin depth is the distance that the center conductor mating plane differs from being flush with the
outer conductor mating plane. The pin depth of a connector can be in one of two states, either
protruding or recessed.
Protrusion and recession
–
Protrusion
- the center conductor extends beyond the outer conductor mating plane.
–
Recession
- the center conductor is set back from the outer conductor mating plane.
The pin depth value of each adapter was verified to be within factory specifications at shipment.
The electrical performance of the adapter depends, to some extent, on its pin depth. The electrical
specifications for each adapter takes into account the effect of pin depth on the adapters
for a visual representation of proper pin depth (slightly recessed).

NOTE
At
no
time should the pin depth of the 1.0 mm connector be protruding.
