Replacing the Chassis Core Assembly
PXIe Chassis Replacement
Replacing the Defective Core Assembly

Power down the chassis.

Write down the serial number shown on the rear panel of the defective
chassis (e.g., TW12345678). You will assign this serial number to the
replacement core assembly using the Keysight PXIe Chassis Hardware Service
Wizard (part of the PXIe Chassis Soft Front Panel software).

Remove the Serial Number plate from the defective chassis.

Using a Torx T8 screwdriver, remove the two screws that secure the plate
to the chassis.
NOTE:
Keep the screws; extra screws are not included with
the replacement core assembly.

Remove the replacement core assembly from the box and shipping material.

Attach the original Serial Number plate from the defective assembly to the
replacement assembly and tighten the two screws.

If you are using a remote PC controller, power up the power up the chassis
then power up the computer.
If you are using an embedded controller, power up the chassis.
Before opening a packaged core assembly, ensure that all ESD
(electrostatic discharge) precautions are observed. Refer to
“Static-safe Handling Procedures”
