UPDATING THE MIDJAY

The Operating System of the MIDJAY resides in Flash memory and can be updated as follows.
After downloading the new operating system from the web site www.ketron.it, follow this procedure:

•  Connect the MIDJAY to the Computer using the USB connection.

•  Transfer the MIDJAYOS.BIN File from your computer’s Hard Disk to the MIDJAY, positioning the File in the 
main directory and overwriting the homonymous MIDJAYOS.BIN File which is already there (Overwrite). 

Warning:  It  is  forbidden  to  disconnect  the  USB  port  or  to  turn  OFF  the  MIDJAY  during  the  data 
transfer.  This  occurrence  could  cause  a  total  destruction  of  the  Files  on  Disk  and  a  serious 
malfunction of the Disk itself.

KETRON is not responsible for damages due to lack of compliance with these rules.

•  Disconnect the USB cable (using the procedure for safe removal of hardware from the Computer) and wait 
until the USB Connected message disappears from the display.

•  Turn OFF and turn on again the MIDJAY. The instrument will display the message 

“New OS File has been 

found. Install?”

. This prompt explains that a new Operating System has been detected and asks if it should be 

installed. Press 

Enter

, while the 

“OK”

 function is active, in order to confirm the installation. 

•  The new program is automatically loaded while the 

0-9

 keys flash.

•  When the system has been completely loaded, the MIDJAY is set for the initial operation Mode.
