MEASure? QUERY
MEAS?
Syntax:
Short Form: MEAS?
Long Form: MEASure?
Return Value: <exp_value> = digits with decimal point and Exponent, e.g., 2.71E1 for 27.1
VVVV,CCCC,STAT where
VVVV = measured voltage
CCCC = measured current
STAT = status (see Table B-2)
Description:
Measures actual voltage and current without sending separate MEAS:VOLT? and
MEAS:CURR? queries.
This query returns the actual value of output voltage and current as deter-
mined by the programmed value of voltage and current and load conditions.
B.9
MEASure:CURRent? QUERY
MEAS:CURR?
Syntax:
Short Form: MEAS:CURR?
Long Form: MEASure:CURRent?
Return Value: <num_value> (digits with decimal point and Exponent)
Description:
Measures actual current.
This query returns the actual value of output current as determined by the
programmed value of voltage and current and load conditions. (See example, Figure B-1.)
B.10
MEASure:MODE COMMAND
MEAS:MODE
Syntax:
Short Form: MEAS:MODE {SYNC | ASYN}
Long Form: MEASure:MODE {SYNChronous | ASYNchronous}
Description:
Determines measurement sampling rate.
SYNC establishes a connection between a setpoint
change and the measurement system, providing the ability to measure the output after a change with
a guarantee of an update within 60 milliseconds. ASYN is the power up setting and allows for a free
running measurement system that can attain a 25 millisecond measurement setpoint rate though
there is no guarantee that measurements match each setpoint change.
NOTE: MEAS:MODE syntax (similar to MEAS:RATE command, see PAR. B.12 for details)
found in previous Firmware versions is still supported.
B.11
MEASure:MODE? QUERY
MEAS:MODE?
Syntax:
Short Form: MEAS:MODE?
Long Form: MEASure:MODE?
Return Value: SYNC or ASYN
Description:
Indicates whether measurements are synchronous or asynchronous.
Returns SYNC or ASYN to
indicate whether the measurements are synchronized with setpoint changes or not.
B.12
MEASure:RATE COMMAND
MEAS:RATE
Syntax:
Short Form: MEAS:RATE <int_value 50 or 60 or 100>
Long Form: MEASure:RATE <int_value 50 or 60 or 100>
Description:
Determines measurement sampling rate.
Value of 50, 60, or 100 and represents the sampling rate
(Hz) for measurements (MEAS:VOLT? and MEAS:CURR?). The meters LCD display normally uses a
60 Hertz sample rate, creating a sample of 1 cycle in length or 16.6 mS. The 50 Hz sample rate (20
mS sample) is used to display the slower graphic selections on the meter display, The 100 Hz sample
rate (10 mS sample) is used for the three fastest graphic display selections. Upon power-up this value
is set to 60 or 100, based upon the settings for metered display.
