before plugging in
l
Make sure your electricity supply
is the same as the one on the
underside of the power unit.
Important – UK only
l
The wires in the cord are coloured
as follows:
Blue = Neutral,
Brown = Live.
l
The appliance must be protected by
a 3A approved (BS1362) fuse.
Note:
l
For non-rewireable plugs the fuse
cover MUST be refitted when
replacing the fuse. If the fuse
cover is lost then the plug must
not be used until a replacement
can be obtained. The correct fuse
cover is identified by colour and a
replacement may be obtained from
your Kenwood Authorised Repairer
(see Service).
l
If a non-rewireable plug is cut
off it must be DESTROYED
IMMEDIATELY. An electric shock
hazard may arise if an unwanted
non-rewireable plug is inadvertently
inserted into a 13A socket outlet.
l
This appliance conforms to EC
Regulation 1935/2004 on materials
and articles intended to come into

1 Fit the power unit into the lid, it will

2 Fit the paddle into the power unit.
3 Remove the freezer bowl from the
freezer and fit into the outer bowl.
4 Lower the assembled lid/power unit/

l
THE MACHINE MUST BE
SWITCHED ON
BEFORE
ADDING
THE ICE CREAM OR SORBET
RECIPE TO PREVENT THE MIX
FROM IMMEDIATELY FREEZING
ON THE INSIDE OF THE BOWL.
6 Use the chute and pour the ice-
cream or sorbet mix into the freezer
bowl.
l
When pouring mixture into the bowl,
always stop at least 2.5cm from the
top, as the mixture will increase in
volume during freezing.
7 Allow the mixture to churn until
frozen or the desired consistency is
reached, this can take up to 15 to
30 minutes, but most recipes will be
ready in less time.
Note:
The paddle will stop rotating
when the mix is ready.
important
l
Do not stop and start the machine
during the freezing process, as the
mixture may freeze in contact with
the bowl and prevent movement of
the paddle.
l
In the unlikely event of the motor
overheating, a safety cut out will
operate causing the motor to stop.
If this happens, switch off, unplug
the machine and allow the power
unit to cool.
8 Switch off, remove the power unit/
lid by turning anti-clockwise. The ice
cream is ready to serve.
l
The ice cream produced should be
a soft spoonable type. This can be
transferred to a separate container
for storage in the freezer or if you
wish to firm the ice cream before
eating.
