RE-INSTALLATION 

 

Before you start the re- installation please take care of the following:

 

IF YOU NEED TO INSTALL THE SAME IN A NEW CAR (EVEN IF IN A SAME GROUP MODEL) 

IT IS NECESSARY TO RESET THE MODULE 

 

RESET:

 

 

1. 

WITH THE UNIT POWERED ON, PRESS THE “CAW-KIMUN1” BUTTON UNTILL THE 

LED SWITCHES OFF 

2. 

WHEN THE LED SWITCHES OFF, RELEASE THE BUTTON. THE RESET IS DONE 

Parking Distance Control 

Climatronic Control Information 

Note:

  

In case of no OEM Parking sensors, the OSD information will NOT be displayed 

In case of “Climatic Control” (manual A/C) the OSD information will NOT be displayed 

Depending on vehicle specifications the OPS (Optical Parking System) needs to be activated 

The availability of OSD images depends on the vehicle attributes

 

 

KIM 

LED 

BUTTON 

ATTENTION! 

If the vehicle is equipped with: 

a)

 

MFD display which is not showing the Body computer or  

b)

 

equipped with a MFD PLUS without Steering wheel controls. 

 
it’s necessary to de-activate the MFD functions on the KIM interface. To do so please follow 
below steps: 

1)

 

Disconnect the KIM interface from the power, then set DIP switch 3 to “ON” 

2)

 

Connect the KIM interface with power. 

3)

 

The LED will flash: 1x orange, followed by red flashes 

4)

 

Press 6 times on the button in the KIM interface and verify the LED flashes:  

    7x orange and 1x red. 
5)

 

Push for long time the button in the KIM interface until the LED switches OFF. 

6)

 

Now release the button and verify that the LED flashes 7x orange and 2x red. 

7)

 

Once verified above point 6, disconnect the KIM interface from the power 

8)

 

Set DIP switch 3 to “OFF” and re-connect the interface with power.

Der Adapter CAW-KIMUN1 ist ausschließlich für  KENWOOD Multimedia-Komponenten vorge-
sehen und unterstützt nicht nur die Lenkradfernbedienung des Fahrzeugs, er kann zudem be-
stimmte Informationen aus dem Fahrzeugdaten-Bus auslesen und im Display des Kenwood 
Multimedia-System darstellen - wie z.B. die  Abstandsanzeige der Park Distance Control oder die 
Darstellung der aktuellen Klimasteuerung sowie weitere, zukünftig im Fahrzeug integrierte
