TROUBLESHOOTING
Since rice varieties may vary in composition, the results may differ. Here are some
troubleshooting tips to get the consistency you want.
Rice is too dry / hard after cooking.
If your rice is dry or hard / tough when the rice cooker switches to "WARMHALTEN", the rice will be
softened by extra water and extra cooking time. Depending on how dry your rice is, add 1/2 to 1 cup
of water and stir through. Replace the lid and press the WEIßER REIS switch. When the rice cooker
switches to "WARMHALTEN", remove the lid and stir the rice to check for consistency. If necessary,
repeat until the rice is soft and moist.
Rice is too humid / damp after cooking.
If your rice is still too moist or humid while the rice cooker is switching to "WARMHALTEN," stir the
rice with the spatula. This redistributes the lowest (wettest) part of the rice and releases excess
moisture. Replace the lid and leave it in warm-up mode for 10 to 30 minutes as needed, remove the
lid and stir regularly to drain excess moisture.
The lowest rice layer is browned / caramelized.
The bottom layer of cooked rice may be lightly browned and / or caramelized during cooking. To
reduce the browning, rinse the rice before cooking to remove excess starch. Stirring rice after
switching to "WARMHALTEN" also helps to reduce tanning / caramelization.
