OPERATING THE MACHINE

Only people who understand the safety information and instructions in this manual may oper-

ate the equipment. Be alert and careful when working with the machine and only use the tool or

product in the manner described in this manual. When working with equipment that has moving

parts, there is always the risk of injury. Be careful when working with equipment equipped with

hydraulic hoses ,oil under pressure can penetrate the skin. Seek medicalattention immediately if

this occurs. Always work alone with the tools that are defined as single porpose tools. Respect the

equipment’s danger zone.

Place the log splitter on a stable flat surface

Mount the splitter to the tractor three point linkage.

Connect hydraulic hoses to tractor hydraulics. Connect pressure- and return hoses to the

tractor’s hydraulic outlet.

Fold down the wood collector.

Familiarize yourself with the log splitter without starting it

Warning!

Never use faulty safety equipments!

SPLITTING LOGS

Make sure that no one has hands or arms on the splitting table.

Load the log on the splitting table and align the it against the knife. The log should be split

along the wood fibers. NEVER place the wood crosswise (see illustration) WARNING! Be care-

ful when splitting of hardwood, knotty and / or crooked wood. Some types of wood can crack

or fly off, which may result in injury.

Take the control levers and start the splitting by bringing the ramming plate forward. The

ramming plate will press the log against the splitting wedge.

When you release the control lever the ramming plate will return back to its  starting position.

The stroke length is adjusted by moving the block on the log splitters  side. Set it so that the

ramming plate does not go beyond the length of the log. Move back the block again after

use, so that the hydraulic piston is not unprotected.

If the wood gets stuck in the splitting knife: Release levers so that the plate go back to its

starting position, then remove the log thtat is stuck. Warning of crushing! Make sure the ram-

ming plate is in its original possition and has stopped moving before  you do anything whith

the machine. NEVER put your hand or other body part between the knife and work table,

instead use suitable tools such as shives or breaking bar to loosen the wood that is stuck. If

you need force to loosen the wood use appropriate tools such as a rubber mallet, never use

your hands!!
