Step 7: Compliance calibration
Follow the steps below to calibrate compliance. Table 2-14 summarizes calibration steps.
1. Connect the DMM to the Model 2520 testhead CURRENT OUTPUT jacks, as
shown in Figure 2-9 .
2. Select the DMM DC volts function, and enable auto-range.
3. Put the unit into the DC mode:
:SOUR1:FUNC:SHAP DC
4. Send this command to turn on the source output:
:OUTP1 ON
5. Send the following command to set the current to 100mA:
:SOUR1:CURR 0.1
6. Set the voltage compliance to 10.5V:
:SOUR1:VOLT:PROT 10.5
7. Note the DMM voltage reading, then send the value as the parameter for the
following command:
:CAL:PROT:SOUR1:PROT <DMM_Reading>
For example, if the voltage is 10.45V, the correct command is:
:CAL:PROT:SOUR1:PROT 10.45
8. Set the voltage compliance to 3V:
:SOUR1:VOLT:PROT 3
9. Note the DMM voltage reading, then send the value as the parameter for the
following command:
:CAL:PROT:SOUR1:PROT <Voltage>
10. Send this command to turn off the output:
:OUTP1 OFF
