5. Connect a SATA power cable and a SATA data cable to the disk.
The following figure shows the sequence of disk slots.

6 . Before installing the cover back to the NVR1821, ensure that no dust or particle is left inside
the NVR1821 .
The NVR1821 is equipped with a fan. However, the fan can draw dust and other particles,
causing contaminant buildup inside the NVR1821, which can result in system malfunction.
7. Use a screwdriver to install the cover back to the NVR1821
.
4 Installing the NVR
In a well ventilated area, install the NVR1821 in a 19-inch rack as follows :
1. Choose a suitable location for the rack that is near a grounded power outlet.
Ensure that the rack is at least 0.6 m far away from the wall.
Leave at least 1.5 m of space in the front of the NVR1821.
2. Install the chassis provided by the rack manufacturer.
3. Secure two L-shaped hangers to the NVR1821 with the four included screws.
