Getting Ready
Hiding/Redisplaying the
Notification Window
When the Notification window is
displayed on the standby screen, you
can temporarily hide it by pressing
K
(Back) and then display the Main menu
by pressing
[
.
To redisplay the hidden Notification
window, press
B
when the standby
screen is displayed.
Switching between Portrait
Mode and Landscape Mode
When using a function (such as a character entry screen)
that is compatible with landscape mode, turn the cell phone
as shown below to switch between portrait and landscape
modes. In landscape mode, the keyboard is switched to a
QWERTY keyboard resembling a standard PC keyboard.

to switch between portrait and
landscape modes.
Hold the cell phone upright when switching portrait
and landscape modes. If the cell phone is laid flat, the
screen mode may not be switched.
Using the Touch Panel
The display of the cell phone is a touch panel. Touch the
display with one finger at a time.
The touch panel may not function if you touch the
display with your fingernail, or if you touch the display
while an object other than your finger is touching it.
The proximity sensor detects the presence of a nearby
object (such as your face) and disables the touch
panel function to prevent inadvertent touches when
you lift the cell phone to your ear
when a call is received or during a
call.
* Do not put a label on the proximity
sensor to avoid malfunction.
