Fueling the Engine

WARNING

•

Gasoline is extremely flammable and is
explosive under certain conditions.

•

Fuel and refuel in a well ventilated ar-
ea with the engine stopped.

•

Do not smoke or allow flames or

sparks in the area where the engine is
being refueled or where gasoline is
stored.

•

Do not over fill the tank (there should
be no fuel in the filler neck).

•

After refueling, make sure the tank
cap is closed properly and securely.

•

Be careful not to spill fuel when fueling
or refueling. Spilled fuel or fuel vapor
may ignite.

•

If fuel is spilled make sure the area is
dry and free of fumes before starting
the engine.

•

Avoid fuel contact with the skin or
breathing vapors for a prolonged peri-
od.

•

KEEP FUEL OUT OF THE REACH
OF CHILDREN.

1.  Unleaded gasoline with a octane rating of 86 or

higher is recommended because it produces
fewer engine and spark plug deposits and ex-
tends the exhaust system life.

2.  Remove tank cap and fill tank.
3.  Do not fill tank above the shoulder of the fuel

strainer.

Strainer

Shoulder

4.  Never use stale or contaminated gasoline or

oil/gasoline mixture. KDAR recommends a
fuel stabilizer.

5.  Avoid getting dirt or water in the fuel tank.

Set Up

Spark Arresting Muffler

All Hot Max generators are equipped with spark
arresting mufflers allowing for use around agricul-
tural crops, forests, brush, grass and other similar
items. Spark arresting mufflers are required in the
State of California and on some U.S. Forest Ser-
vice Land and may also be legally required under
other statutes and ordinances. The California stat-
ues requiring a spark arresting muffler are Sections
13005(b), 4442 and 4443.

Pump Connection

The power washer is shipped with the pump pre-
filled with oil. There is no need to add or check the
oil level.

1.  Attach the high pressure hose to the water out-

let by threading it clockwise onto the outlet.
Take care not to cross thread the connections.

2.  Connect the gun to the to the high pressure

hose by threading it clockwise.

3.  Attach the spray wand to the gun threading it

clockwise..

CAUTION

Water flow should be at least 4.0 g.p.m. with 20
p.s.i. of pressure or the pump may be damaged.

1.  Select and connect the desired nozzle for the

job being done.

2.  Connect a garden hose the water supply con-

nection using the quick connect coupler sup-
plied.

Note: Run water through the hose to clean it
out before connecting.

3.  With the water supply on, depress the trigger

on the power washer gun to remove air from
the lines prior to starting the pressure washer.

WARNING

Be sure the wand is securely connected to the
gun, a wand that is not securely locked to the
gun can separate under high pressure and when
operating the gun, potentially causing serious
injury or property damage.
